Volunteer Testimonials in Amantani Island, Peru - fanny vigo

"Participating as a volunteer in the project Muyuy Tejiendo Tribu was magical and healing. It was magical for really feeling the weave with the love of the Lake, the Amantaní Island, the Mamani family, other volunteers, the community participants and the founder of the project, we were all connected , rowing in one direction, creating awareness and making the world a little bit better. In the Circle of Women and Knowledge, I opened up my voice and felt that we healed together, it was beautiful to see the participants share their knowledge with such enthusiasm and tenderness ... that I keep that image as a little treasure in my heart. Thanks a lot!!!."

Fiorella Carrera Jiménez

"My name is Fiorella Carrera, I am a lawyer by profession and volunteer by choice. I am deeply grateful to Muyuy Tejiendo Tribu for the opportunity to volunteer on Amantani Island, because the week I shared with the family and the community allowed me to create valuable learning for life, since the coexistence was enriching and transforming. The certainty of knowing that education changes and improves lives and that living respecting our knowledge, experiences and talents, empowers and elevates us towards our best version, is the greatest gift that Muyuy gave me and I firmly intend of continuing to collaborate with the project. Successes, Muyuy family !!!."

"My time collaborating with Muyuy Tejiendo Tribu is to recognize myself in the infinite whole. Everything has another dimension on Amantani Island that breaks the limits: the lake, its magic, the thousand paths, the smiles of the children, the good morning at each meeting, the hard work, their sweat, the sense of community , love...

And time flies. Muyuy connected me to my true purpose of service. I discovered that volunteering does not have to be temporary - and although it can cause high-impact - sustaining service as a lifestyle has meant for me to shape my sense of belonging in this world. It was strengthened the heart and realized that I can integrate my personal dreams with my active work in community.

Each workshop or meeting was a surprise to challenge pre-concepts that were taken for granted. I had the honor of offering my gifts, and it makes me very happy. Although I always felt that it was the inhabitants of this magical island who taught me everything."
